Ive posted this photo here as a reminder to myself that the sky was in fact blue at some point during the summer. We have definitely had more than our fair share of grey and wet this year. Grapes-wise they are behind by around 10 days at this stage of the season here in Canterbury. We will be looking to the (hopefully) ever reliable long dry autumn that Canterbury usually experiences.
Bring on the debate! Interesting article in the New York Times by Eric Asimov with comment on New Zealand Pinot Noir in relation to a recent tasting. The article kicks off under the heading 'NZ Youths with promise' and leads by saying our Pinots have come a long way in the last 10 years and seem to show improvement at every new tasting.
