Stopping to smell the roses, er daffodils…

daffodils I was going to title this post Drive-by Shooting in Christchurch but thought better of it. Its easy to get lulled into a false sense of spring at this time of year. One minute its sunny, the next its cold and wet. I took this photo of these Daffodils yesterday out of my car window as I was driving back from delivering some wine to Sezn restaurant (surely one of the citys best). Bealey Avenue must be one of Christchurchs busiest streets but the city council have planted these flowers in the median strip of the road. Maybe its a strategy against road rage, it was certainly a calming influence on me at rush hour. Or just another sign why the city is called The Garden City. Either way, its further proof that spring is really here.
